The Fairwear Foundation, FWF, is an international non-profit organization that aims to ensure fair working conditions for everyone in the textile and clothing industry. Clothing brands that want to sell their products under the FWF certificate must meet 8 conditions:
1. free choice of employment (no forced labor),
2. freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining - e.g. forming unions,
3. exclusion of discrimination in the workplace - equal opportunities principles,
4. prohibition of child labor under the age of 15,
5. minimum wage principle,
6. reasonable working hours - max. 48 hours per week,
7. healthy and safe working environment,
8. legally binding employment relationship.
PETA is a non-profit organization that fights for animal rights. Products marked with this label meet standards and confirm that the product is vegan and PETA approves it based on a statement from the manufacturer. The products do not contain any ingredients of animal origin and no animals suffered during their production. In the textile industry, this means that the product is not made from wool, silk, leather and other animal materials.
OEKO-TEX
OEKO-TEX is an international organization and all textile and leather products bearing this certificate are among the highest quality in their category and are made only from materials that are completely safe for the health of users.
During testing, it is verified whether the materials do not contain:
• – heavy metals,
• – formaldehyde,
• – pesticides,
• – allergenic substances,
• – potentially carcinogenic substances,
• – other chemical substances harmful to human health.
The certificate is issued to the company for one year.
